This Currency & Conversion Policy explains how Maltibase handles multiple currencies, exchange rates, and currency conversions across the platform.

1. Multi-Currency Platform

Maltibase operates as a global platform supporting multiple currencies for transactions, payments, and payouts.

  • Users may view prices in different currencies
  • Transactions may be processed in a base or selected currency
  • Currency availability depends on region and payment providers

2. Currency Conversion

  • Currency conversions may occur during payments, withdrawals, or payouts
  • Conversion is handled by Maltibase or third-party payment providers
  • Exchange rates are determined at the time of transaction

Important: Exchange rates may fluctuate and are not fixed.

3. Exchange Rates

  • Rates are based on market conditions and provider rates
  • Rates may differ from publicly available rates
  • The final conversion rate is displayed before transaction completion

4. Conversion Fees

  • Currency conversion fees may apply
  • Fees may be included in the exchange rate or charged separately
  • Third-party providers may apply additional fees

5. Payment Provider Role

Currency conversions may be processed by:

  • Stripe
  • Paystack
  • Wise
  • Other approved financial partners

Each provider may apply its own rates and fees.

6. Transaction Currency

  • Transactions may be processed in a default platform currency
  • Wallet balances may be held in specific currencies
  • Currency mismatch may result in automatic conversion

7. Risks & Fluctuations

Important: Currency values fluctuate constantly. Users accept the risk of exchange rate changes during transactions.

  • Rates may change between transaction initiation and completion
  • Maltibase is not responsible for exchange rate losses

8. Refunds & Reversals

  • Refunds may be issued in the original transaction currency
  • Converted amounts may differ due to exchange rate changes
  • Currency differences are not refundable

9. Compliance & Monitoring

  • Currency transactions are subject to AML/KYC compliance checks
  • Suspicious cross-border activity may be reviewed

10. Limitation of Liability

Maltibase is not liable for losses resulting from currency conversion, exchange rate fluctuations, or third-party provider fees.
